Nelio Bizzo

Nelio Bizzo is a Senior Full Professor in the Department of Genetics and Evolutionary Biology at USP's Institute of Biosciences, where he also completed his undergraduate research (four FAPESP scholarships) and master's degree (FAPESP scholarship). He earned his PhD in Education from USP, including a period at the University of Liverpool. Then, he was granted access to the Manuscript Room at the University of Cambridge Library to study Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species manuscripts. His career at USP's Faculty of Education included a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Leeds (CAPES scholarship) and a visiting professorship at the University of Verona (FAPESP scholarship). He was also selected as an expert for the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).
